Sow, Sprout, Soar

Hello Future Leaders

We live in exciting but challenging times, as there are disruptive developments in technology which make our lives better but also leads to increased uncertainty around the world. To navigate such a volatile environment, you have to start thinking of empowering yourself with life skills, with leadership being at the forefront within your chosen domains.

By attending this year’s SMU Leadership Symposium, we hope it will prepare you to face the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world. We’ll take you along the journey of leadership with a growth mindset, guided by our theme of “Sow, Sprout, Soar.” Like a plant which grows from a seedling to a towering plant, the symposium will lay the foundational skills and knowledge to kick start your leadership journey and enable you to make meaningful impact to the community.

“A leader is a person you will follow to a place you would not go by yourself.“ –Joel Barker
