Toshin is a final year student at SMU’s School of Economics. He has represented both Singapore and India at international leadership events, including a prolific leadership conference at the United States Military Academy at West Point earlier this year. Toshin is the first ever SMU student to receive the Schwarzman Scholarship, a 21st century rendition of the Rhodes Scholarship, designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders.
Toshin served in SMU’s highest student leadership body, the SMU Students’ Association Council in 2016 & 2017. During his term as president of a standing committee of the Council, he led a team of 25 students representing 11 different nationalities. Toshin is passionate about leadership development and intends to pursue a career in international development. After graduating from SMU, he will be pursuing a Masters in Global Affairs as a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University.
