Shiu Tong retired from Singapore Armed Forces as a Brigadier General, after 29 years of service. He has served many appointments in the Army, including Chief Commando Officer / Commander Special Operations Task Forces and Division Commander, 2nd People Defense Force / Island Defense Task Force. A noteworthy achievement is 3rd Singapore Infantry Regiment 10th Mono-Intake winning the Best Infantry Battalion award in 2004, which Shiu Tong played a small role in shaping the growth of the soldiers.

In 2014, Shiu Tong joined C&W Services to manage the functionality of all facilities and venues at Singapore Sports Hub. Since then, he has the opportunity to be part of the facility management team to support mega events such as South Sea Asia Games, National Day Parade, Rugby Sevens and concerts like Cold Play, Jay Chou and U2.

Shiu Tong’s current team comprises of Venue Managers, System Engineers, Technicians, Security Officers, Safety Officers, Cleaning and Landscape Specialists as well as Rope Access Specialists. In addition to supporting events, his team maintains over 100,000 technical systems and components.

A passionate sports person, Shiu Tong completed the Ironman and numerous full marathon races. Nowadays, he cycles and enjoys a game of social tennis on weekends. Shiu Tong holds a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Sheffield Hallam University, UK and recently qualified as a certified Building Façade Inspector and Rope Access Level 1 Operator.
